Restless nights were not uncommon. Brennan was good at compartmentalising away things she didn’t want to think about right away but at night-time it was always harder keeping them in place, keeping her awake when she was supposed to be catching up on needed sleep. The vampire experience had been pestering her thoughts, it shouldn’t be possible but it was. Logic fighting against the illogic and in this case the latter winning and that was not something Brennan was used to at all. If it wasn’t the existence of vampires that was bothering her it was how the hell they were going to get out of the city and back home, she was positive there was some way but she hadn’t found it yet and it didn’t help that she was starting to think they would need the whole Jeffersonian team there, Sweets included before solving that ‘case’.
Brennan had been dozing, slowly falling back to sleep when she heard the voices from downstairs. She had yet to meet the friends Booth had talked about, so was hesitant to go see what was going on because of how early it was. The hesitation didn’t last long though, she was soon following the sound of voices until she had arrived at the right room.
“What’s going on?” She asked upon entering, noticing the expressions first and registering she had heard the word security second, she probably should have started with hello.
