Jaina blinked. Then, for good measure, she blinked again. No, he still wasn't laughing. Not even a hint of a smile. Which meant he wasn't joking... even though she couldn't imagine him being serious.
"I..." Not sure what to say, she glanced toward Amelia to see if the other girl had any inclination of her own. The look on her face, however, showed that clearly she didn't.
"I'm not sure," Jaina finally stated, looking back to Anakin. "It could send him right into the Dark Side and we'd end up with two Caedus'." She hesitated before adding quietly, "Or it could destroy his mind completely, to realize he's been wrong all along."
"... Or it could open his eyes, make him see we were telling the truth, and force him to take the steps needed so he doesn't become Caedus."
That quietly spoken, thoughtful statement came from Amelia. Her gaze was on Anakin, her brow furrowed a bit as she added, "It's not likely, but is possible."
"If he met him under the right circumstances. If Caedus seeks out Jacen and manipulates him..." Jaina didn't need to finish that thought. It was obvious just how bad the situation could become, and how quickly.
