"Oh!" Booth paused, dropping the laces to put a hand over his heart like Faith had dealt him a serious blow. "We're not delicate," he replied with a straight face. "We just happen to get into more situations where getting broken is a possibility."
Or at least he did. And he was still standing after what the world had tossed at him at one point or another. That was what was important to him.
"Right, right. If they were any kind of considerate, they'd keep better hours." He tied the laces tightly and double knotted them before rising back to his feet, glancing around the empty plaza and the fog still hovering just inches above the ground. Peaceful.
"I like running before the rest of the world wakes up. It's quiet and it lets me think without outside intrusion." He shrugged. "Usually I'm up earlier but that's just asking for it. So I comprimised with the slightly less dark right before dawn."
