When they appeared, Nathan crossed the room to the bed, sitting on the edge next to them. In his entire life, he'd never dreamed he'd see his mother like this. Even after the debacle in the police station, he hadn't, as there was an edge to this that was harsher, more destructive. Rather than terrified, she looked broken.
But what the hell was he supposed to say to her? That all it was, that image, was the pure fabrication of someone else's mind games? It wasn't, but that didn't change that whoever had done this had absolutely no right. Was Maury here, or was it one of the current dangers in the city?
