As Nathan always paid attention to where he was going, especially as he neared the hotel to see if anyone – which was really just Peter or Kat – would be joining him before he head out over the city again, he saw Elaine before he shot right past her, or ran into her. He couldn't exactly screech to a halt in the air, but the change of air patterns around them was a silent version as he came to a standstill in the air, a controlled hover as he stared.
Elaine had wings.
Admittedly, this wouldn't be the first person in L.A. Nathan had heard about having wings, even if the only other instance he could recall had been something telling him so, rather than seeing it face to face. Seeing it face to face was far different, however, as he had never noticed any sign of wings on Elaine. Concealment only, or something else.
"Morning," he said finally, then cleared his throat. "Can't say I was expecting to run into you up here."
