Angela swallowed the ball of rage, distress, and hurt that was building in her, settling it safely in her gut as she stared up at her son for a brief moment before looking away. She wasn't backing down, no, but she'd rather steel herself for more important things than a petty argument that she would never win, that she never would win no matter what points she might throw out.
"My ability overlays another set of emotions on top of the other individual's, usually stronger and more present. This overlap either blends with or cancels out what the person is feeling themselves, depending upon the strength of it, and they react to these new feelings and emotions as if they were their own," She said, looking up at him. "I wasn't aiming for it to cancel anything out."
