John heard the knocking, and was at first nervous at who it could be.
He'd been trying to lay low for nearly a week, since he'd mysteriously arrived here. He just wanted to be left alone, to try to live in peace while he could. So far, he'd not run into any vampires or demons or any of that other weird stuff he'd been warned about, and he was thankful. No one had bothered him, except for a few occasions when a neighbor had knocked and had either asked a favor or introduced themselves. He spent most of his time, hanging around his room, either catching up on lost sleep, or reading up on things online. He had a borrowed laptop, and old one one of his neighbors had given him. He just hoped Skynet wouldn't use it to track him down. He had yet to find a job, and knew he would need to work on that soon.
He had been in the bathroom, brushing his teeth after having lunch, when the knocking came. He quickly spit and rinsed out his mouth before yelling that he'd be there soon. He was clad in a t-shirt and boxers, but he wasn't so much for caring.
When he answered the door, he didn't recognize the girl standing there at first. He eyed her, studying her.
Damn, who's this hottie? he wondered silently, and then cleared his throat.
