The door gave a whine as she pulled it open and stepped into the room. The single level motel housed twenty rooms. Each long since abandoned, windows boarded, doors locked, though not truly empty. Each room was connected to the next by a pressed wood door. Should they all be left open you could run from the first motel room to the last in a straight line.
"Disgusting." She growled when her foot caught the remains of what could only be described as last nights dinner.
*THUD*
Selene looked to the ceiling, a clear indentation in the roof could be seen. Above her, on the outside, the Lycan gripped the ledge of the roof in his clawed hand. The old concrete crumbled in his paw, falling like dust to the ground below. This beast was not alone. After all they were after Selene. No mere Death Dealer, she was what they strove to be. Ruthless, cunning, without mercy. Lucian had warned them about this one. Passing along his warning through his blood memories.
When she heard his howl like loud thunder above her, Selene closed her neon eyes and took a deep breath. The monster above her had not yet moved. Outside the thin, pressed wood door she could hear others talking. Their voices low like thunder in the clouds.
"You are certain you saw her?"
Three of them, still dressed, still in human form stood a few feet from the entrance. They really should have been more careful. The thin walls offered no privacy. She heard every word.
"Postive."
They followed me. It would seem the vampiress had a lesson to teach these young fools. Had they listened to their fallen Elder they would never have been bold enough to follow her, they would have seen another day. Tonight was their last night on earth.
Each Walther was loaded and waiting in the holsters on her latex encased thighs. Gripping the handle of her ancient sword Selene smiled when the light from around the door caught the blade at made it gleam. Soon, it would be slick with their blood.
Pressing her ear to the door Selene listened. The sounds of their change could be heard through the hollow wood door. Power radiates from her blackened eyes, burning with the brilliance of the sun when shielded by an eclipse.
Both claws dug into the door frame, his long nails piercing the flimsy wood and sheetrock. The beasts snout was not more then an inch from the entrance, the Death Dealer waiting on the other side. Selene could hear his heavy breaths as they fell from his mouth. She could feel his weight pressing on the door.
*CRACK!* The door began to split down the center as her blade plunged through the thin wood impaling the Lycan through his heaving, muscular chest. Selene pushed forward, making sure to tear and cut every bit of his filthy heart. The sound of his last ragged breath could be heard as his limp body fell forward and started to slide down the door.
Withdrawing the sword Selene took a step back, waiting for them to come and get her. There was a twisted smile on her face. How she hoped they had all changed. The vampiress needed a good fight, a challenging fight. Right then she wished Raze had not been slaughtered by Viktor’s hand. He would have given her the battle she desired. Strong as she may be Selene had no grand delusions of power, she did not want to create an empire of her own to dominate, this was who she was and she was content.
Poised like a fierce lioness she waited…
