It had been a full day, and Rinoa wanted nothing more than to talk it all over with Jack. Of anyone she'd ever known, Jack was the least judgemental, the most accepting. He'd never called her 'princess' in the derogatory way some of her fellow soldiers once had, never made her feel worse for not having a place to live or a job. Now, she could share that good news with him at least. She could start supporting herself and Angelo. Perhaps she could even get her own place...
Of anything, the thought of leaving their...leaving Jack's place brought her spirits down. She knew it would take a while before she saved up enough for that, so it was hardly imminent, but surely he expected her to move out eventually. Didn't he? Jack was too nice to say so, and never mentioned such a thing, but Rinoa knew he had to be tiring of sharing his space.
They had agreed to meet for ice cream, and Rinoa thought it would be nice if she could treat him for once, a sort of celebratory gesture. Even though the thought of not being near Jack pained her, Rinoa was still very pleased with herself over getting an actual job in this place. She could enjoy her time with him as it lasted.
Determined to do just that, she crossed the street towards the ice cream shop, Angelo at her heels. It was easy to spot him, but then, she never found it hard to find Jack. Her eyes just always seemed to go to him...
Someone she didn't know was greeting him as she walked up, and Rinoa smiled, wondering if it was one of the friends he'd mentioned. Sora and Kairi, she thought she recalled. Angelo, of course, was three steps ahead, already circling Jack eagerly. Jack had been spoiling the dog unmercifully, and Angelo knew full well when to take advantage. Not one to interrupt like her shameless pet, Rinoa held back long enough for the other two to meet properly.
