Who: Lindsey McDonald and Cathy Hyatt What: Self-defense training Where: Training room #3 @ Wolfram and Hart When: Saturday, two weeks after Cathy's show, early morning Rating: TBD (Depends on badly Cathy beats up Lindsey)
The problem with being the CEO of a demonic lawfirm was every enemy that Lindsey made could possibly discover his connection to Cathy and hurt her to get through to him. At least the unscrupulous ones, as he couldn't see the "heroes" going that route unless the circumstances were that dire. So it was inevitable that he needed to build on to the foundation that Faith had given her so that when the situation called for it, she would be prepared.
The suggestion had been lighthearted, the prospect of spending some time together that didn't involve a meal or serious conversation. The implications of the offer did not go unnoticed by Lindsey after the fact. She'd come from a world where evil was the crimes humans perpetrated on other humans. Now she was not only exposed to a worse evil of psychopaths, demons, vampires, spellcasters, and a growing assortment of others, she happened to be dating a morally grey, death defying, unapologetic, manipulative bastard of a lawyer (and there wasn't one part of that description that wasn't true and completely accepted by Lindsey.) Training her to kick ass, maybe even his in the future, was inevitable.
The day before he'd texted her. Wolfram and Hart, 7 a.m. bright and early. There had been an evil smirk as he'd hit send. With a simple hack, he cleared the tactical team's training excercises and sent them out for field excercises instead, freeing up one of the rooms for them to use instead. The day and time made it perfect for keeping the seperation between his personal life and business. Even the very, somewhat, and only a little evil had to take the day off, a smaller crew working within the firm for the day.
A few minutes before seven, Lindsey stood near the inside doors of the firm, dressed in track pants and a worn out old t-shirt, glancing at his watch as he waited.
