Amelia was... nervous, really. There was no other way to put it. She was a Jedi, a trained diplomat, even well-versed in hostage negotiation. Yet the thought of meeting a woman who was theoretically a relative of hers... frightened her.
Mara Jade Skywalker was something of a legend in Amelia's mind. Amelia was just about to become Padawan to the woman's son, Ben, in her own time. She'd spent a great deal of time with Mara's widow, Amelia's own uncle (or great uncle, if you were being technical), for a good bulk of her life. Most every meditation technique she knew was attributed to Grand Master Skywalker, in fact. And while they'd only ever spoken of his wife a handful of times, she'd gathered enough from the conversations to know that the woman was a kind, loving person... with a steely reserve and a fiery temper to boot.
And now Amelia was about to tell her that she was going to meet her demise at the hands of her own nephew. It really didn't seem right. Or fair.
Arriving at the rendevoux spot, the girl went completely still at the sight that greeted her across the way. Luke was here. Her Uncle Luke - Grand Master Skywalker himself - was here.
Oh Force...
For a brief second she considered turning and fleeing. Mingling back in with the crowd until she was far enough away to make a run for it. Yet something kept her there. Some part of her knew that she needed to see this through. They both deserved to know the truth.
Drawing in a centering breath, Amelia exhaled slowly as she crossed the distance between them. A hint of a smile - still just enough of the Solo smirk to make her recognizable, although there was a lot more of Leia in her expression than Han, really - she offered a small wave at the duo. "Sorry I'm late," she apologized, first and foremost. Manners were important, she could practically hear Leia hissing in her ear.
"Obviously, I'm Amelia. It's... nice to meet you." Her gray-eyed gaze flickered to Luke, peering through a few strands of her dyed black hair at him. "And you as well, although in my time you definitely know who I am."
Boy this was weird. She hadn't realized just how much, until she'd tried speaking.
