The entire trip down to the auto shop above which her apartment resided, Mikaela had thought of one thing and one thing only. She had a Decepticon and his bond-mate in her apartment. Alone, in her apartment. And with the bond-mate eyeing her belongings as though he were a kid in a candy store. She had wanted to tell them not to touch anything, not to even think of touching anything, but hadn't had the heart to do so. There was something about how... helpless they seemed that made her hold her tongue and instead make a mad rush downstairs with the intention of being back as quickly as she could manage.
The washing machine and dryer were located in a small room in the very back of the shop. It was meant for company use to clean the coveralls and towels, and various other grease-covered items, that were worn or used in the shop without having to pay to have it done. As a tenant of the shop owner, however, she was also allowed to use it for her personal clothing so long as she only did so during hours the shop was closed.
Of course, there was almost always a load in the dryer that someone had forgotten to pull out before leaving for the day, and this was no exception. So it had taken her a few moments longer than she'd wanted it to take while she pulled out the dry towels and coveralls (not to mention hang them up and put them in the appropriate area) and stuck Skyfire's shirt and jacket into the now-empty dryer. Once that was done, she went in search of some temporary clothing for the man.
She guessed he was close to the same size as her boss' nephew - a rather handsome example of a human male who was large without being fat or bulky, and just so happened to have fairly good taste. He didn't work at the shop but he did visit quite often and, being the college student that was was, tended to bring his laundry to do for free while spending time with his uncle and his uncle's employees. The visits usually ended in an argument which caused the nephew to leave in a huff, and inadvertantly leave at least half of his clothing behind to gather up his next go'round. This time was no exception and she managed to locate a pair of black, draw-string sweat pants and a white t-shirt that wasn't sporting some dirty picture or poorly executed joke across the front of it.
Gathering up those, she was all set to head back up to her room when she noticed another pile of clothes behind the first pile. Curious, she went looking, and managed to find some clothing that looked as though it might fit Starscream's smaller frame. Deciding he might want to eventually change out of his clothes at some point, she grabbed those as well (another pair of black sweat pants and a gray t-shirt this time) and then headed back upstairs.
Only to walk in on a sight she was not prepared for in the slightest.
She had known, on some level, what 'bond-mate' had to imply. She had also seen, first-hand, the physical closeness that Starscream and Skyfire seemed to enjoy. She had witnessed the smiles, the faint touches, even the virtual groping when Starscream had stripped the other man of his shirt and jacket. But to witness such an act of tenderness as this, to see the great and powerful and deadly Starscream in such obvious emotional distress, made her feel as though she were intruding.
So it took her a second to reply, the slight flush that crept up her cheeks one of embarrassment at having seen such a touching scene when she clearly wasn't meant to see it. Finally, though, she managed to work up a nod and crossed to where they stood, holding out clothing for Skyfire to take with one hand. "They may not be a perfect fit, but I think they'll be close," she commented, then glanced toward Starscream. "And I brought these, for you." With that she held out the other outfit for him to take. "They'll be more comfortable to sleep in, at least."
There was a brief moment of hesitation before she added, "And really, it's no big deal. You needed help, I'm helping." She gave a tiny shrug of her shoulders, then, her voice actually sounding as friendly as it had since she'd first shown up at that hotel on the outskirts of town and told them to get into her truck.
