The desperate clutching of Starscream's hands and subsequent light scratches and mild bruising that was likely to follow, the words of despair and anger, didn't deter Skyfire from his decision. He would help return his bond-mate to who he had once been through support and unconditional love. To leave him in this condition, to allow him to only be partially functional at best, was simply unacceptable. However, he had to admit that there was clearly something he was missing, some piece of the puzzle that might better explain Starscream's actions.
"I am the one who is sorry, Starscream," he could only think to say at first, his mind still going through any possible scenario that might point to why Starscream would act this way. Would feel the desire to mix such anger, such rage, with the simple act of loving another. Unfortunately, Skyfire was woefully uneducated in all that he'd missed and could no sooner find a reason than he would have been able to explain the inner workings of the body he was now inhabiting. This was all so very foreign and he'd be lying if some part of him wasn't frustrated.
He shoved that frustration aside, however, in order to focus on the man in his arms. His fingers trailed through the thick locks of hair upon his bond-mate's head, marveling at the texture of them. He remained silent for a few long moments before speaking again, still cradling that head to his shoulder and stroking those thick locks of hair in a loving fashion.
"I'm not going anywhere," he assured him. "I made a miscalculation before with those winds which I will forever regret until the day my Spark fades. I don't intend to make the same mistake again, love, or any other that will cause you harm. You're my Starscream as much as I am your Skyfire. I love you and nothing you could ever say or do will cause that to change." He pressed a gentle kiss to the top of his head, inhaling the human scent that was uniquely his bond-mate's, now.
And even at the sound of the doorway opening, Skyfire continued to offer what silent strength and support he could for Starscream, mindful of Mikaela's eyes upon them but not caring much at the moment. Let her questions come. He would happily answer them. He would not, however, forsake his bond-mate to do so.
