Too gentle---too gentle by far. Starscream didn't deserve it. Suddenly, he was angry--furious--and he didn't know why. Because Skyfire had abandoned him; because he'd abandoned Skyfire; because he'd changed, and his beloved hadn't; because he was damaged, now, and unworthy of Skyfire's love; because Megatron had broken him so thoroughly that he couldn't understand the difference between love and hate, pleasure and pain, and it was all, all the same to him now. Wasn't it? Could he feel one thing without the other? Could he love Skyfire as purely and simply as he had at one time, when he'd been--- innocent. Innocent, at least, of war and the Decepticon General's honey-poison words.
"Why did you leave me?!" he sobbed against the other man, and pulled him closer despite his intentions to push away. "It's not fair!" His breath was hitching, coming far too fast, fingers clawlike in auburn hair and against a powerful shoulder. "I-- I thought I could survive, and I can't, and now you're back, and.. Skyfire, I can't do this if you're only going to be taken away from me again!" He couldn't see, vision whiting out, tears blurring the other man's face---he blinked furiously, not wanting to lose sight of his bond-mate for a moment.
Primus. He was a mess, he knew it, and he couldn't stop.
"I.. I th-thought I was okay.."
His fingers gentled again with some effort, regretting suddenly that he might have hurt Skyfire with his clutching, greedy hands. He'd learned such caresses from Megatron, and he wanted nothing of Megatron's to touch Skyfire.
But then-- what did that mean for Starscream? Because surely, no Decepticon could deny that he belonged just as surely to their leader. He'd gone crawling back to him, after all, hadn't he? Because he didn't know how to live, any longer.
He shuddered once, and was still, dropping his brow down against the other man's shoulder. "I'm sorry," he whispered, arms curling around the bare, muscled waist. "I'm so sorry. I don't mean to be this way. I don't. I swear." His face was damp---this being human thing was going to be complicated, he just knew it. "I love you; I've missed you. It's just.. it's a little overwhelming."
