There were a few reasons Mikaela had managed to make it to their location in such a short period of time. The first one was that she knew how to drive. Not just keep the vehicle between the lines, but actually drive. She'd been driving since she was young, knew more about cars than most mechanics could ever dream to know, and had no issue using it all to her advantage when she had somewhere she wanted to get to as quickly as possible.
The second reason was simply that she happened to live on the side of the city facing this area. She was still well within the actual main metropolis, but she wasn't near the ocean which was clear on the other side of Los Angeles, so she had far less of a commute than others.
And the third - and quite possibly the most important (to her, anyway) - reason she had arrived so early was the fact that she wanted to get there sooner than would be expected. Plain and simple, she wanted to arrive as quickly as possible so, if there were some sort of trap, maybe she would show up before it could fully be laid.
It wasn't the most logical of reasons, and it had its fair share of flaws, but it had helped her make her way from her apartment to this out-of-the-way hotel in fairly record time. In fact, she'd exited her truck fully intending on having to go inside and look for the two 'humans', if this wasn't some sort of elaborate hoax. So imagine her surprise when, just as she reached the door to the hotel, it opened and out stepped a very human Starscream holding hands with another very human male.
Honestly, out of all of it, the holding hands part was what threw her for the biggest loop. She remembered Starscream as the F-22 that had very nearly killed her, Sam, half the Autobots (especially Bumblebee), along with a good hunk of the United States Special Forces in a matter of mere seconds. He had been a Decepticon through and through, hell-bent on the destruction of her planet and the success of their mission and it was only by sheer force of luck and no small amount of teamwork on behalf of the humans involved and the Autobots that the mission had failed so spectacularly.
Still, seeing him now, so ironically human himself, and doing something as human as holding hands (not to mention that smile he'd given the other man) was enough to stop her clear in her tracks. Gone was the image Mikaela had of him in her mind and in its place was a being who, while still possessing those crimson eyes and that unique voice, was in obvious need of help. And the man with him - Skyfire - very clearly needed help as well.
"It's nice to meet you," she nodded toward the other with a faint, perfunctionary smile. He returned the nod with one of his own and a soft, "Likewise", along with a smile that was as anti-Decepticon as one was capable of being without actually being Optimus Prime.
She looked to Starscream, then, her features unreadable. Not hostile - she was working very hard at that - but not precisely overly friendly either. After a second she motioned to the truck. "Well, let's get going. It'll be dark, soon, and the temperature is going to start dropping fast," she stated simply. Her first priority, as the one doing the helping, was to get Skyfire into some warm, dry clothing and out of the elements of nature. Then they could probably both use some food and, after that...
Well, after that, Mikaela wasn't quite sure what to do. She'd deal with that when it came, she decided, and turned back to her truck without another word.
