He didn't bother to ask about this "Gabriel." When she wanted to tell him all about it, she would...but who knew when that day would come now. He couldn't be sure, but this was starting to feel like a goodbye. Maybe not a permanent one, but he was smart enough to know that distance would almost certainly be needed between the two of them for awhile.
"No, I won't stay. Dat's probably for de best, anyway." As he talked, he turned again and stared out into the night sky, thinking how at any other time this would be an amazing night to be out on a rooftop with a woman as beautiful as Elisabeth. "For what it's worth, I'm sure you're doing de right t'ing by dem. And dey couldn't ask for a bettah person to be lookin' after dem. I'm...I'm sorry for what I said down dere. Hell, I'm sorry for everything."
He had so much more to say, but now was not the time. He started to walk away, ready to disappear into the night...but not before turning back one last time. "I don't expect you to forgive or forget what I did...but I'm gonna make it up. To you, to Rogue, to everyone. And when I feel like I've made it up to myself, maybe I'll look you up again, yeah?"
