Charlie gave an almost unnoticeable nod of her head at Lindsey's statement before turning her attention to Kathy with another smile. Stepping closer to the girl - although making sure she wasn't too close as she didn't want to frighten her - she replied, "He'll be here soon enough. In fact, he's on his way right now."
Which, she reckoned, was both a good thing and a bad thing. Good in that they wanted Angel to know about Kathy. She would serve as a distraction for the vampire where little else could or would. And him being distracted was very good for their side of things.
It was also bad, however, because if things got too intense, Charlie couldn't swear that Angel would walk away from his first encounter with her unscathed. Oh, granted, she knew she wasn't supposed to turn him into dust on sight. Lindsey wanted the pleasure of bringing down Angel himself, she assumed, or the Senior Partners had plans for him that didn't involve her making him spontaneously combust. Either way, she knew she wasn't supposed to cause him any real harm.
But Charlie's powers weren't always as well-behaved as all of that and, if she had a choice between Angel, Lindsey, or Kathy, well... Angel drew the short straw no matter which way you looked at it.
Exhaling slowly, she made sure she was near enough to Kathy as to keep the vampire at bay until Lindsey told her otherwise, and slowly turned her attention back to her boss. Now, all that was left to do was to wait for the calvary to arrive.
