Lindsey rose to his feet, reaching out to gently place his hands on her shoulders. "I'm afraid you can't return, Kathy. This magic is quite specific and return is not possible." He kept his voice gentle, sympathetic. Lindsey did feel bad for the girl. Being pulled out of her time and tossed into a far more advanced age didn't help matters.
When he heard her say Liam's name, he didn't say a word. It was fonrimation that they had brought back the right child at least. He glanced up at Charlie as she entered the room, nodding once at her comment. "Kathy, this is Charlie. She works with me here at the firm," he said before looking up to Charlie.
"This is Kathy, A...Liam's little sister." It was second nature calling the vampire by his human name and would have led to more questions that the time wasn't right to answer. Moving away from Cathy, he stepped around the table to move closer to Charlie.
"Let them come here. The Powers That Be sent them here and they'll stop at nothing. Besides," he said, lowering his voice to a whisper the child wouldn't here, "I think Kathy might want to see her big brother."
