As Peter sank to the floor, Gabriel crossed over to him, sitting down next to Peter and reaching out, settling a hand supportively on Peter's back, "Come on. I'll help you up. It won't do any good sitting here staring at the door." The other man was probably long gone by now, even if Peter wanted to go after him. Peter could probably find him if he decided he really wanted to, but it would just be a horrible waste of energy that it looked like Peter really didn't have right now.
Shifting slowly to his knees in order to make it easier for him to get up, he held out his arm to Peter and offered him an understanding smile, "The kitchenette will be more comfortable anyway."
