If he had been told originally what the cause was behind the early wake up call, he would have ended this whole argument hours ago. But he wasn't open to reason, they didn't have Kevin to diffuse the situation and sort everything out and even though Nick liked to think of himself as mature at times he was the most competitive and the biggest sore loser. He didn't want to admit to his brother that he was mostly in the wrong. It was Joe's birthday and he had knowingly ruined it over a stupid quarrel. Not that it mattered, because he was still angry.
Receiving the look that he did from his brother, he suddenly decided he didn't want to work this out. His eyes widened momentarily as the shock of how Joe was acting towards him hit him but he quickly replaced his look of surprise with one of annoyance and his eyes narrowed dangerously. "So you're just going to feel sorry for yourself." The younger Jonas stated, his arms were resting uselessly by his sides and his hands were threatening to ball into fists. In all honesty, the idea of spending time with his brother on his birthday hadn't even occurred to Nick. Too much was going on and it slipped his mind.
To resist the growing temptation to just walk up to Joe and smack him upside the head, Nick shoved a hand through his unruly mop of bed head curls and attempted to stare down at his brother from a distance. It was difficult to see him in the lack of light, and he turned his head to look off into a side street whilst he compiled his thoughts. Which proved to be hopeless, because he was too annoyed to think rationally. "Storming out also doesn't work when you get yourself killed," he replied after a moment, his head snapping back to look at Joe.
