Since he wasn't really making much use of himself out on the hero front, Xander decided to follow up on the advice on helping work the support area instead. So, for the past few days, Xander had taken it upon himself to provide fresh breakfast foods for everyone in the morning. Particularly, as of late, it had been donuts. Prior to being hurled into the big city, Xander had always been a donut fan. He'd haul a box or two over to the library when the Scoobs needed to get into research mode, and now he was going to make sure that he did it here since it seemed be such an effective method back in Sunnydale. Who knew? Maybe the sugary goodness would boost morale. Or something.
With a box tucked under his arm and a bag clutched with his free hand, Xander stepped away from the front counter and moved toward one of the vacant chairs. He set the box down and pulled his bag open, fingers digging inside for a donut that was caked with sprinkles.
"Come to papa," Xander started, moving the donut toward his mouth. He took a bite, savoring the yummy goodness, before he managed to catch sight of a girl sitting alone at a table just ahead of him.
She was out of donuts. Xander glanced down at his bag.
Xander was not.
Half a moment later, Xander was standing next to her table with his bag in hand. "They sure go fast, don't they?
