"None," Lindsey replied, punctuated by a small shake of the head. "I found them when I first moved to LA and I've been using them ever since. If you find they might be someone you want to try, just mention I sent you." He flashed her a smile. "It won't get you a discount but it might get the ball rolling quicker."
He leaned back in the seat, the slow movement earning him another stab but once he was still again, it eased back to the dull throb. "They're both the worst." Lindsey leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees.
"Pawn or plaything, it still represents that something has a hold on you and will do with you what it sees fit if it can manipulate or move you right. A loss of free will, either knowingly or unknowingly. But given a choice between the two and only the two, I'd choose to be a pawn because there is the chance that the pawn can come to its senses and turn the game around."
With that statement, something began to make sense to Lindsey. He knew, he'd studied, the Senior Partners, enough to be a danger to them. He'd managed to fool them enough to get to the failsafe that would've killed Angel had Cordelia not been around and he'd been one part of the team that had cut down the Senior Partners' pet Black Thorn group. He knew the game when it came to torture.
He was dangerous to them. And what better way to save their own asses than to keep him in check? Lindsey smirked slightly, returning his thoughts to the conversation at hand as Integra began speaking again. "I don't know," he admitted, though it wasn't the whole truth. "But I'd say keeping themselves a mystery, strengths and weaknesses, plays a part in it though you can't fault them that strategy."
