"I assumed demon or human, too many people in this city have developed an unhealthy attachment to their TV." Despite his discomfort, Lindsey managed a weary yet amused smile. Many of the demons and vampires he was familiar with had acquired, or in the case of vampires, clung to their human characteristics, which included recreation and amusement.
"As long as I can still stand." Once Integra had climbed in, Lindsey slid in behind her. Just being in a dimmer light cut down on the pain in his head, giving the coffee a little help in soothing his plight. The stomachache not so much but he made a silent vow that he would not be doing anything as unprofessional as throwing up in the car. His grip tightened on the cup as he leaned over to pull the doors shut, so he wouldn't spill it on the upholstrey.
The sword caught his attention before she stowed it away. In the past few years, Lindsey had become something of a swordsmen and still practiced the skills. It would be ridiculous for most lawyers outside of a hobby but in his line of work, it was sometimes the garauntee that he would see the next night or morning.
"Silence would be preferable," he stated as he glanced around the vehicle. "Pleasent accomodations you have." The remark was followed by a quiet and long sip of the coffee, the caffinated beverage soothing on his sore throat. Already that promise that he wouldn't drink again was fading from mind.
"Did you locate the mystic element you were looking for?" he asked, indicating their first face to face meeting in the shop. He remembered her statement about the Bird of Hermes and the books she had been looking for but alchemy was not one of his stronger suits, so it was a simple, light question to initiate conversation.
