Mary Jane had to have thanked Cathy at least a dozen times by the time they reached the hospital. She'd approached her initially, then hailed a cab, then paid for the fare, and she was also willing to wait with her until she was seen by a doctor. The girl was a godsend.
"That's good to hear," she replied in an equally hushed tone. "I don't like hospitals very much the way it is."
She approached the desk and signed in, the woman behind it telling her to have a seat and someone would be with her as soon as possible. Mary Jane then headed to the nearest chair and eased herself into it carefully. "I hope it doesn't take too long," she said as she motioned Cathy over.
