It seemed that the dog caught onto the presence of another individual before Heather even did, walking a half-circle around her legs and almost tangling her up in the leash before she was able to turn get herself out of the way.
"You can't do that, you know," Heather scolded gently as she reached up to brush some hair off of her forehead. "I'm walking you to get some exercise, not to break my legs."
The Sheltie whimpered and barked in a high-pitched tone at the man who had been passing by, and while Heather didn't know it, the dog had caught the scent of the bones and treats he was carrying with him.
