The sounds of people passing by, a teenage boy with a female friend beneath the pier where one could still stand trying to get a little closer to said female companion, none of those sounds evaded his ears. Even beneath the surface of the water he could hear schools of fish teeming about. Gulls flocked and screamed in the air, waiting for someone to toss some scraps onto the wooden planks of the pier.
When the woman approached, her heels clicking on the wood he raised a brow before looking over his shoulder at her, sizing her up. His eyes were weathered and he supposed he did look like an old seadog reminiscing on the days of old given the skin he was in.
He tipped his head to her and offered a smile. "Mornin'."
