She didn't find it surprising that the cops couldn't handle much of what was going on here. The cops had enough time handling the 'normal' bad guys, or the idiots who got their hands on guns. When he motioned to the books, her eyes followed, a slight smile coming to her face. Books weren't something she used back at home very often, everything was done by computers. But she liked them well enough, and here should could read them and process their knowledge very quickly.
Though it was interesting the cops didn't try to be involved. Kara had been arrested before for trying to help out where cops would have been over their head. Granted she just broke out later, and luckily charge were dropped. But how did cops not know what was going on, or become involved? It seemed something that was far too obvious.
Then she followed his gaze to the stairway. "Well, that's an added bonus." so much better than her apartment, and she could not pay rent. It wasn't like she had a lot of possessions either. Or she hadn't had the time to buy a lot yet.
Grinning, she took a few steps forward. "Just like that? Well, I guess I should be thanking you then. So thanks." this could be so much better than waiting on tables or making coffee. Kara just shrugged, working with the mythical wasn't going to be a problem. She didn't know if she qualified as mythical, but she sure wasn't 'normal.' "Sounds like I'll fit then. Working with a few others who are 'mythical' will be refreshing." as apposing to only having Clark. There would be others who were different. She wouldn't be the only one, so she wouldn't stand out that much. So she hoped anyway.
