“Girls don’t like to give up their ages,” Seth argued with a pout while she placed the samples taken inside the kit. “We agreed in this point before huh?” Her hand ran on Selene’s hair, trying to soothe the pain somehow. But sedatives would be effective in that organism? Perhaps if it was a very strong dose of opium would be handy.
“Hah Well! Virus is Latin for poison. So you can classify it as one and the same in a way,” she explained, trying to keep the environment light with a big smile. “There’s a chance this is a bacteria and not a viral strain. I need a laboratory to analyze this and this Logan buddy of yours owns one?” She drew a breath. “If it’s a virus, we’ll try to treat it, but we can’t… kill it with an antibiotic. So, I’ll process a drug to help your immune system fights it.”
Her fingers stopped threading on the woman’s hair and picked up the syringe next, fixing the needle on its extreme.
“Let’s hope the infection didn’t reach all of you,” she muttered, moving out the bed to walk to the opposite extreme. “Sorry!” she warned beforehand before prickling the thumb and waiting to see if the wound healed. It did. She wasn’t wholly infected yet. Spotting a vein, she pierced between her thumb and the index foot finger, keeping the needle within time enough to take the sufficient samples.
“Nope, it’s just tea. But I slipped hemoglobin capsules and mixed them. That’s all a blood-drinker needs from blood without the icky taste,” Seth gave a delayed explanation as she collected Selene’s blood. She finished the procedure and withdrew. The cut closed before her eyes. “Nobility from my homeland considers blood gross and the habit to drink it barbaric, so they have these pills to replace it. They are made from willing donated blood, processed and encapsulated. I sell them to my Methuselah clients. For you,” she paused, grinning, placing the crimson liquid in clean test tubes. “It was a free sample. What’s your favourite flavour? I can make you that one next.”
She shrugged, “Hey, cheer up! If you become human,” Seth pointed out, waving the crimson filled tube between her hands. “I can inject you this and you’ll return to be the same as before. This is your blood and isn’t polluted yet.”
