"Oh, just a few months before me then. It had just turned October, same year." That was somewhat of a relief at least. They were close enough that there would be no real gaps in their lives. Well, besides the obvious issue of the child she was carrying, but that was relatively easily explained now that they had the basics out of the way.
There was tea on the coffee table just next to the couch. Perhaps sitting down would do them both good. For her part, her back was beginning to hurt a bit as it had been wont to do lately.
She met his hand on her stomach with her own. "This place is... I'm not entirely sure how to describe it. When I got here I'd only just found out I was pregnant, myself. I'd not had the chance to tell you at all." More to the point, she'd been taking her time doing it, trying to figure out the best way to break the news. She'd been under the impression that this sort of thing was supposed to be announced in some grand fashion, yet right now she was completely throwing that out of the proverbial window.
"So yes it's yours, you prat," she teased him, playfully hitting his arm. "He's a boy. I had a Muggle --sort of Muggle-- healer examine me, because I wasn't sure what to do and there's something about this place that's speeding the process along much faster than it should be. Or for all I know, it could be his very unique parents' fault." Tonks grinned and laughed. "But don't worry. Peter, the healer, he had this machine he could use to show me the baby-- that's how we know it's a boy. He's got no tail, no pointed, furry ears. No pig's nose, no claws. He's just a baby."
