"Oh I think he has more than enough confidence," she assured him, "I don't think that has anything to do with it, while he may well be over-compensating I'm not sure he's aware of that fact himself."
She stared at him when he asked the question about the Master. "It really isn't that simple," she said after a moment. It was true, of course it was, but everything she'd said about his was true in her mind too, she just didn't care that the Master was a arrogant asshole some of the time, because sometimes he wasn't.
"Well he's not killed anyone yet so I suppose I'm doing a fairly good job," she agreed, "you don't think he'll be bad for me then?" she asked finishing her own drink. "And in fairness I love you too," she pointed out, not quite looking at him, "though not in the quite the same way obviously."
