Sarah's heart was breaking for this girl, for all she had gone through and would still go through. It was a terrible burden for an adult to bear, all of this, let alone someone young and pulled out of time to be put in this place. Tilting her head to rest it lightly atop Kathy's, Sarah hugged her a little tighter.
"It's not the same thing, I know, but I met someone I thought was Peter," she said softly. "He looked just like him." The complications of 'secondary identity faces' and assumptions weren't the relevant part, just the mistaken identity. "I didn't know right away it wasn't him, because most people aren't expecting someone else to look like the people they love. Even if a funny feeling in your gut said something didn't feel quite right, you also love and trust your brother. That's the way things are supposed to be, and even if it means being taken advantage of, it doesn't mean you did anything wrong, or that someone else in your situation wouldn't have done just as you did."
