"Well, if there's anything that I can do, I would be more than happy to help," He said, schooling his voice into a carefully calm and even tone. "If you'd be willing to explain the circumstances to me," He said, turning briefly from Peter to cross to the nightstand where he'd left his crystal sitting in a bowl of water surrounded by salt.
