It was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness...
It didn't take long for Erik to get vampires and werewolves on his side. Through the entire city, nearly overnight, billboards and graffiti displayed the face of their new leader and the phrase "MAGNETO WAS RIGHT." News stations reported it and soon enough the sheep that were considered humans joined in as well, spreading the word that this new mysterious person who seemed to herald a new dawn of change. The city quickly grew restless.
Erik walked into the Los Angeles City Hall and smiled as sweet Brother Joseph as he walked through the metal detector. He joined the tourgroup. He took pictures. He was quickly joined by his werewolf brethern that believed Joseph was only the messenger. They turned down the hallway that separated them from the group and soon disappeared from the security cameras. There was nobody there to notice as the werewolves wiped their mouths and grinned hungrily for more.
Erik quietly stepped into the office of the Mayor.
"Sir- you're not allowed to be in here!" "Am I?" "Sir- I gotta ask you to le--" The security guard quickly met with the floor under the weight of a very large filing cabinet. The mayor stood in confusion as Magneto removed his robe and stood in his trademark uniform. "My friend, I believe it is you now who isn't allowed to be here." "What is this?!" "You are going to step down. You are going to dismiss your entire office." The mayor reached for his phone, however, before he could pick up the receiver it flew against the room with a loud clank. "I've already made arrangements for your family, as well as the most of your counselmen. They have already willingly agreed to keep quiet, I highly suggest you do the same." The mayor's jaw dropped. "You... you-" "Yes. Now, if you will excuse me I have pressing business to take care of for my city." The mayor stood, frozen. He blinked and looked down to see that he was bleeding in a fine mist throughout his chest. He touched the growing stain of blood and looked back to Magneto, terribly confused. Magneto smiled.
The mayor grabbed his laptop and quickly ran from the room. Once he was in the hallway, he was prompty consumed by the waiting werewolves.
No word leaked about the quiet takeover of Los Angeles. It would remain this way until Magneto was ready to make his presense to the city-- Let them riot, he thought, picking up a paper holding today's agenda and briefing.
Let them riot.
...it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way.
