"Ouch," Booth replied, wincing in mock sympathy. "I can only imagine what that looked like." And if he felt bad about it, he certainly didn't show it. "All in the line of duty."
He paused to evaluate where he was, finally starting to become familiar with the territory in the past few weeks. Booth pointed off to his right. "Library is a few blocks off this way," he told her before he took a right hand turn at the corner.
He held up a finger. "Now that proof I can provide you with." He was going to enjoy the look on her face when he handed over the notebook. "There might be. Maybe."
Booth shot her a look over his shoulder. "You surprised me last time," he replied. "In a face to face fight, I'm pretty sure the keys would be staying in my pocket."
