“It is illogical, I don’t see how anyone could think otherwise.” Temperance interrupted, but smiled after a moment. “You didn’t call me Bones.” Usually that meant the seriousness of his words and it got her wondering how long he had been there for exactly.
She kept her smile there but it was more sceptical this time, “you’ve been doing research?” It wasn’t relevant compared to the next sentence about not being able to leave, but that was worthy of a whole other conversation, one which would more than likely come after Brennan got more of an understanding of the place.
“2008.” Brennan answered automatically, one year being lost would’ve been one thing but losing three was completely..not possible. “You weren’t gone, I would have noticed.” She told him, even more confused than before, she opened her mouth to say something but closed it again soon after. Facts: it wasn’t 2008 anymore it was 2005, she was no longer at the Jeffersonian and Booth had been in the city for a few months already and there was a possible fight brewing between good and evil.
“I’m trying to understand, Booth.” She nodded, identifying bones she could handle, dealing with situations that went against all her logic she could not. “A few months?” The change back to the previous topic had been deliberate on her part and Brennan looked at him questionably, trying to work out if he was fine with that or not, through the confusion she still had room for more concern.
