If she'd told Edward about Jake, he'd probably get ticked. But she didn't really care either way it went. SHe gave a soft smile. He'd have to strain to hear it, as her voice was rather soft so no one else would pick up on what she said, "Hes a werewolf, if you're wondering how hes going to take care of me. Hes done a damn fine job.." Especially since on her waitresses wages, she couldn't afford heat. And hey, Jake was like a damn space heater.
She looked away from him and took a deep breath. They were standing in the middle of the street having this conversation and it was perhaps the stupidest thing that they could do. Because what if someone with decent hearing heard them? That'd bad.
"Look..lets go..somewhere. That isn't so.." She waved her hand towards the people. "..ish." And then looked down with a sigh. She didn't know what the hell she was going to tell Jake when he smelt Edward on her. It was going to be complicated..but it wasn't like she was dating Jake..
When he started to talk again, her hand dropped away from his face and she felt something tighten in her. "But..you.." She didn't know what to say to that. He'd said he didn't care. He said he didn't want her. That she wasn't good for him. And now this. She just stared at him blankly, as if he'd just lost his mind or she'd lost hers. And there it started, her knees buckling and the shallower breathing as she started to go down in a dead faint.
