Bella couldn't look at him, she couldn't hardly breathe for seeing him. As if he cared what happened to her. He didn't. Alice said she was wrong, but damn it, Edward himself had told her that he didn't want her. That he didn't care. She took a deep breath and tried to calm down, tried to stop herself from crying from both pain and anger. He was acting like a father to her. And she didn't like it, not at all. He had been her boyfriend, once, but he was not her father.
She had already met some of those vampires, and been saved by one with a soul. Stupid unreliable vampire and his stupid shiny volvo. Somehow, it was all Edward's fault. At least, that was how it was playing out in her head. Somehow it was his fault that she was here and his fault that she'd run into him. When technically, she knew that he wasn't at fault for either of them.
"I'm fine." She said softly. "Jake is here with me and hes been taking care of me. He showed up not long after I got here. Guess he was looking for me to take care of me."
As he moved closer to her, her heart seized up again. Something constricted and she felt like she was going to pass out. She'd just gone out to get herself and Jake something to eat, so she could go to work and just have a normal day. But clearly, nothing of this day was going to be normal because she had a gut instinct that she was not going to work.
She didn't know what to say to his apology; she wasn't sure what he was apologizing for. Hurting her? Leaving her? Being here? She didn't know. She bit down on her lip and then looked back to him, lifting the hand again that wasn't bound tightly about her chest and then settled it against his face. "I..its all right.."
