"So I think tomorrow, after we've had our breakfast, I'm going to show you how to do Yoga," Cordelia stated as she finished putting away the leftovers. Closing the door to the fridge, she turned to Kathy with a smile. "I think you'll enjoy it. It's pretty relaxing, and can help keep you limber so you can really start making progress on those high kicks of yours that so need working on."
As she spoke, she crossed to the dishwasher and pressed the button to turn it on, then looked back to the young girl. "I also think that it's high time we started really focusing on getting you some education. I know you've been hearing that since you showed up, but we really do need to make it happen." Her eyebrow quirked. "And as soon as you're finished wiping down the table, what do you say to some ice cream? I think I might still have a pint of double chocolate fudge chunk around here somewhere..."
Falling silent, she waited for Kathy to either finish wiping down the table (the girl really did do almost too good of a job sometimes, Cordelia thought) or give up on the chore in lieu of getting a bowl of the coveted ice cream that she'd come to love so much in the past few weeks. Not that Cordelia cared either way what Kathy opted to do. The table already looked plenty clean to her, and she wasn't about to tell the girl that she had to do something just to have a bit of dessert. She'd eaten her dinner (Chinese food, delivery) so she deserved it.
And yes, Cordelia was well aware she was probably the worst parental figure type in existence, but she also didn't care about that either. Life was simply too short to spend all of your time worrying about serious things, and Kathy'd had more than enough heartache in her short life that she deserved to just have fun once in a while. Especially when the fun she was having was also fun for Cordelia, who wasn't one to do much hard work unless she had to or someone's life literally depended on it, anyway.
