Max was off like a bolt when she saw the familiar shaggy black head of hair round the corner. It took her a moment to recognise it as him, a signal that she'd been in this place by herself for far too long. But once a soft, "Terry," escaped her lips, she took off down the street to meet him.
"Terry!" This time it was louder as she prepared to skid to a halt in front of him. Her bright yellow messenger back holding her ever present laptop banged against her legs as she hurried up to him. When Max finally did stop she let out hurried breath, pushing messy hair away from her eyes as she grinned brightly at her friend. "You're here!"
She was exceptionally good at stating the obvious.
