His eyes widened. What? Since when did Lois...? Clark glanced over his shoulder and quickly followed behind Lois, his attention halfway focused on keeping his jaw from falling to the floor while the half was solely directed toward convincing Lois that she was delusional. Or that her Clark was. "Gosh, Lois, that's just silly," he told her over her shoulder, awkwardly moving through the crowd that circled around them. "Superman is...well, he's super. And, y'know, I sure don't think that he'd be spending all his time working in a newspaper. He's got lots of other stuff to do."
He pushed at his glasses again and self consciously pulled at the jacket draped around him, almost as though he were afraid his suit would reveal itself.
