Lois was in need of a job, and badly, if she was going to be staying here for a while. She didn't know how to get home, so this was her only option, it seemed. She'd spent the past two nights in a hotel, and sadly, she'd discovered that she was beginning to run out of money. She would have to make it somehow, and she'd heard that The Daily Press would probably be her best option.
She'd just gotten off the elevator, determined to make it in before the editor left for the night. Her timing could have been better, that she knew. She should have came in that morning, but she'd been too preoccupied and too stressed out to even consider it. She was still preoccupied and stressed out, to a degree, which seemed to cause her perception to be a bit off. She didn't even know what was about to hit her.
The little redhead gasped softly, as the man barreled into her, and her purse, as well as the small folder she'd be carrying, hit the floor. She'd been very close to falling right in the middle of the floor, along with her things, but the man had caught her, and quite quickly.
Nice reflexes. she thought.
Her eyes grew wide as she looked up at the stranger's face.
She realized there was something... familiar about him, but she couldn't exactly pinpoint what it was. He didn't exactly look like anyone she knew. But there was something... a presence, an aura, something to that effect, that seemed familiar.
She cleared her throat, shrugging off the feeling, and managed a small smile. She nodded. "It's... it's perfectly fine. I'm fine. Are you... okay? I... kind of wasn't paying attention, either." She forced a light little laugh, realizing she was a bit embarrassed. If this man would be one of her co-workers, she'd probably just made quite the first impression.
