Normally, Toph's way of both pointing out the obvious while simultaneously making someone feel foolish, combined with her ability to simply shrug off most anything and return to her typical carefree demeanor were two of the things that drove Katara absolutely insane about the other girl. That wasn't the case this time, though. No, this time the reply made the waterbender grin even more than she already was.
"Los Angeles," she answered, then realized that wasn't going to sound familiar in the slightest. "It's... another world, I guess. We're not really sure exactly. It's nothing like home, though. They don't even have bending of any kind."
Pausing for a second, Katara tried to remind herself that this wasn't something that was going to be greeted with as much enthusiasm as she was offering. Yet she couldn't bring herself to stop. She was just so happy to see another familiar face and, while she and Toph had their fair share of differences, at least she knew they were friends when it came right down to it. That wasn't the case with Zuko, Yue she barely knew, and Aang...
Simply thinking about the Avatar made her heart ache slightly for the friendship she worried that had been lost because of this place.
Shaking it off, she stepped a little closer to the blind girl. "Come on," she suggested, "let's get you off this sand and to some solid land. Then I'll do my best to explain."
