"Ugh, I hate stupid sand. It's not solid..." Toph muttered under her breath, feeling her feet sink into the sand. Sure, it was earth, but it wasn't solid enough for her liking. She wasn't a sandbender! Getting slightly annoyed, she twisted her ankle slightly, the sole of her foot still firmly set in the sand. In turn, the ground beneath her feet and just immediately around her solidified. That was better. At least this way it was easier to 'see'.
But of course that did nothing for the fact that she was still confused and still mad.
It didn't take the girl too long to sense that there was someone near. And they were moving toward her rather quickly. She faced the direction this person was coming fun, hearing the way they splashed through the water. It was the voice calling her name that surprised her.
"Katara?" Toph's voice held a little bit of her surprise as she spoke. But almost immediately after her expression shifted back into that signature smirk once Katara had come to a stop in front of her. "Wow, that makes me feel really nice about myself." Sarcasm, of course. "I'd say it's good to see you too, but..." she waved a hand in front of her eyes. The end of that sentence was pretty much obvious.
"Now, can you tell me where the heck we are? I don't recognize this place at all."
