Jack was watching something in the distance when Chris finally got to the roof. It looked like smoke building in the sky and he squinted. He recognized the direction, but he tried not to think the worst. There were many things on his mind already. Henry Gale, Lindsey, and now Chris' father. He'd be damned if he let Zod do anything to Chris and risk losing him.
The Hyperion was rarely a boring place almost always active, plenty of people to talk to and places to explore in itself. The roof was one of Jack's favorite places. It was open, when he needed to get away to clear his head it also had a great view of the city. Best sunsets. He didn't even turn around to see Chris to know it was him, he just sat there on his perch looking down at the city lit by neon lights.
"Learn by doing." He shrugged as he heard his voice. " We only really had one motto at SPD. "It isn't how much power you have, its how you use it that makes a difference." Jack stood on the edge of the roof and brushed himself off, not seeming to notice just how far down the ground was. After all he had the same habits at the academy and it was a much taller building. "How you holding up? Guy's a real piece of work." He clapped a hand on Chris' shoulder gently before lowering it back to his side.
"All those people down there are oblivious to whats really going on." He shook his head and pulled his morpher from his pocket. "Spd, emergency." He spoke normally before releasing the button so it flipped open, and red blinding light surrounded the pair. When it faded Jack was left in a shiny red suit complete with blasters on either side and a helmet. "Guess we're the lucky ones this time, savin' the world isn't such a bad gig."
