Nothing new was coming, but enough had entered her mind that all she could do was babble and cry and press her hands over her ears to keep her brain from swelling out. So much of it failed to make sense, because it was so far removed from her time, and people did things with their hands and heads that they shouldn't have been able to.
"Wo xiang mei er, mei xin, bian shi-tou." River repeated the mantra to herself with increasing frenzy, thrashing out of the arms that weren't familiar, though only seconds ago they had been her own.
Once free, River found the gutter with her own hands, and promptly vomited.
