A request for help from Gabriel was one that Nathan was glad to fulfill, especially when it concerned those who had known Sylar and were having a hard time adjusting to that fact. Nathan remembered how that felt, even if he and Gabriel had become good friends since then. The desire was multi-sided as always, both to help his friend and to protect Gabriel from anything that might harm rather than help him, anything that risked tipping the balance of the scales between Gabriel and the possible future.
Once the woman had introduced herself, Nathan stepped forward slightly, offering his hand to the woman. "Nathan Petrelli."
It wasn't a request Sarah could resist either, but her motivations were fully as his friend with no past history to color it in any other way. It didn't mean she didn't know some of the things that had happened, but she also had an enormous amount of faith in Gabriel after coming to know him. The offer to essentially be the refreshment girl was her attempt to take the edge off what felt, to her, like some kind of face off, quiet or otherwise. It wasn't exactly a social call, but all these people were gathered to be a reassurance, to both Maya and Gabriel. This other woman didn't know any of them – as far as Sarah knew – and so Sarah looked at it from the other side as well, that they might well look like a united force behind someone the woman didn't trust.
Behind the front desk where the coffee, tea, muffins cookies and other 'refreshment' type things were set out, she lifted her hand and offered a smile along with a friendly wave.
"Hi, I'm Sarah Williams, it's nice to meet you, Maya," she said. Smile, action and words were all completely genuine and the smile stayed in place as she folded her arms on the front counter. "Would you like something to drink? Coffee, tea, soda?"
