She'd been keeping an eye on the elevators so that as soon as Peter arrived, she would know it. And she was glad for it, because there was nothing quite like the way he instantly lit up whenever they were occupying the same room. It wasn't vanity, even though Mary Jane -- as well as any breathing female in the world -- would admit to liking that kind of reaction from a guy, but she simply enjoyed seeing the genuine smile on his face. In the past, he tended to look lonely, distracted, more than a little depressed from time to time, and now that she knew the reason for those harsher emotions, she only liked to see him happy even more.
"There you are," she teased gently as he approached, and when he was near her, she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him lovingly. "I missed you."
