"My son?" Mayhap her voice had squeaked just the tiniest bit at the news. Her eyes went wide again as she turned back to the screen to listen to the heartbeat. She couldn't see the distinction that would have marked boy from girl, but then she wasn't trained and she was perfectly content to take Peter's word for it.
Her grin turned bright and Tonks looked back at Peter. "That's brilliant," she exclaimed. "Really! God, I wish Remus were-- it doesn't matter he's going to be thrilled whenever I get back." If she ever got back, but Tonks didn't want to think about that right now. She was going to get back and she was going to be able to show Remus his son.
