Peter was pulling on a pair of latex gloves. This was strictly habit, and more often than not helped the patients feel a bit more comfortable. He pulled a stethoscope from his bag and put it to his ears, checking her pulse and respiration as she talked. "Potions and plants poisoning? Sounds like a dangerous spot."
He jotted down the results on the back of his gloved hand, and glanced at the machine, taking an electronic blood pressure gauge from the bag. "In a way. It's called an ultrasound. Basically, the machine sends out mild sonar waves, and as the waves bounce back, it calculates an image. Sort of like how bats use sound to 'see'. So it can see what's inside your belly without anything invasive."
