"It'll be a process, Nathan," Angela said softly as she slipped from the bed and pulled up a chair closer to him, hating being so far away that the only thing she could do was touch his arm and hands. Shifting slightly, Angela leaned her head on his shoulder, closing her eyes as she tried to figure out exactly how to phrase what she wanted to say.
"I don't think I've stopped thinking about the both of you as children yet, not fully," She said. "It'll take me awhile to fully accept that you're grown up and don't need me to worry constantly that you're going to get hurt because you don't fully understand what you're dealing with."
Because they did. They understood better than she had after so little time even if Peter had had far more than Nathan had. It had taken her years in order to fully get a grip on and truly accept what she was, what she could do. If it hadn't been for Adam's guidance and encouragement and the fact that her ability had been so effective against Arthur, it probably would have taken even longer.
"You boys are dealing with this whole thing far better than I did."
